In The Name of Allah, The Merciful, The Compassionate.

Welcome!

Are you someone born into a religion? and because of that a follower of that religion? Its almost like the 10p coin struck in a pocket of your favorite jumper suit. Its there but you don't really know that its there. You go about life, sometimes at a snail's pace, sometimes at a trot; sometimes happy and then troubled or sad.

Life ticks on, success here, failure there and in limbo now and then. Life is very much a breeze, a blast!!! and what the circumstances bring one now and then. In short life just goes on! For many of us life is just “ME”. Yes! ONLY "ME".

These are just thoughts. If you kinda think in these lines, then I'm so happy you tumbled onto this space. Maybe you have something to offer a heart in turmoil. Maybe in your giving, you will receive much. Who knows?

I often wonder what makes the devotee on his knees on the hard cold pew of some magnificent empty church so radiate with that inner glow. I wonder what transforms the faces of a mother and daughter; before a mesmerizingly ecstataic Buddha statue, into radiant inner peace. How can one help but wonder about the devotee so obviously in rapture before a deity extraordinary and captivating in Martian blue and an elegant elephant trunk?

Then in spite of the hullabaloo of life, one is dumbstruck with the beauty of a canopy that's so star studded and alive with pulsating vitality and mystery. How many of us have been captivated with the azure blue skies and the turquoise blue waters of the Maldives? Oh! The grace of those multi colored fish, and the strutting of the ubiquitous (in Maldives) of the Maakana. What a feast for any eyes that see!

I write! I think! I smile to myself! Am I able to portray this great disquiet thats nudging me on? If you feel anything of what I write, then it would be great to hear your thoughts too. Maybe together we could help each other. Mmmmmmmmmm I did not want to write so long. I promised myself just 5 lines.

Islam = Peace

Its nice we are 100% muslims. I cannot understand why we are obsessed with democracy when we have islam. I wish our politicians are wise enough to see that democracy is a system where people are mostly hood-winked by people who have collected the most amount of money.

Very often, the money used to hood-wink and ultimately enslave the people to a life of consumption is ill-gotten money.

Take our elections. Poor Ibra who was honest and with limited funds got less than 1% of the votes. In fact he got less votes than his registered supporters!!!!????

Thats democracy at play! Do we need that sort of system when we have Islam?

Are we 100% muslims as some suggest? Think about it.

Seek what you wish from Allah, not from men.
Be satisfied in joy; there is honor therein.
On friends and relatives be not a burden.
Rich is he who hopes from Allah, not from men.

O ye who believe! follow not Satan's footsteps: if any will follow the footsteps of Satan, he will (but) command what is shameful and wrong: and were it not for the grace and mercy of Allah on you, not one of you would ever have been pure: but Allah doth purify whom He pleases: and Allah is One Who hears and knows (all things).

nice site.

answer is to everything is Allahu. We must remember Allahu. Friends the key to happiness is prayers. Prayers cleans us. Body and soul. The whole universe is in prayer to Allahu swt. When we pray at that moment we are joing millions on earth and trillions of creatures in the universe in praising Allahu swt.

Imagine the flow of energy of Rahmat at such moments. The beauty is that this moment is continuous 24/7/ -- 365 days. When we joint the prayer, we join this great hyper blast of rahamt.

So we need to crustalise our prayers. Make it as pure and lovely as possible. When we achieve this, Insha Allahu we will receive Allah cleansing Rahmat.

Brothers and sisters, pls share your knowledge and experiance. Lets help each other. Alhamdulillahi. Bless u sister jasmine.

Allah is the real provider. Allah is THE ONLY PROVIDER. THERE IS NO OTHER PROVIDER.

Its stupid to seek sustenance from people. How IDIOTIC are those who thinks otherwise. How foolish are those who suggest RULERS are our providers. Allah is the ONLY PROVIDER.

If Allah wills a certain person to be the means of our livlihood, its foolish to consider that person to be in control of OUR destiny. Be assured NOBODY can hold back from you what Allah has decided is your lot. Nobody can withhold whats your due.

The Devil's main object is to mislead you. Shaitan makes you to believe that this person or that person has power in giving you something or not. Shaitan uses his agents to make us forget that ONLY Allahu is the real provider.

Professional politicians with their slick words, their intent gaze, and hypnotising speeches makes them speeches to ultimately make you forget that............ ALLAH IS OUR SOLE PROVIDER. THAT NOBODY CAN WITHDRAW FROM US WHAT ALLAH HAS DESTINED FOR YOU.

Next time you hear a politician get up to swear in parliament or another platform to say that he is going to serve the people, .... KNOW in your heart that he is a LIAR. When he should be proclaiming he has to serve only ALLAH, and calling people to serve only Allah, he is doing otherwise. He Drools that his ultimate aim is to serve the people.

The politician is trying to play the Devil's advocate. Look at him closely. You will see something DIABOLIC. Dont take my word. Observe the next parliament session. Observe the next politician give his speech. See how many times he says that his ultimate mission is to serve the people. HE FORGETS HE HAS TO SERVE ONLY ALLAH. AND SO ALL HIS ACTIONS ARE GEARED TO PLEASE PEOPLE AND NOT ALLAH.

OBSERVE THE POLITICIANS. THE FAIR ONE. THE DARK ONE then DECIDE!!!!! IF I LIE. MAY Allah Guide you.

Allah knows best. Pls correct me my mistakes if any.

I like this, following verse from the koran very very much. Pls think about this verse.........

Surat 24....verse 21.
O you who believe! do not follow the footsteps of the Shaitan, and whoever follows the footsteps of the Shaitan, then surely he bids the doing of indecency and evil; and were it not for Allah's grace upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have ever been pure, but Allah purifies whom He pleases; and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

Allah Akbar. Lets learn to turn to Allah. Lets ask Allah to draw us close to Him and to please, please purify us. Amin.

A stanza from Rumi's collection of poems

The smell of pride and greed and lust
will betray you when you speak
as much as the onions you have eaten.
Many prayers are rejected because of their smell;
the corrupt heart reveals itself in the tongue.
But if your meaning is pure,
God will welcome even your clumsy expression.

Submit before the will of Allah

"If you are destined for good fortune you will be blessed; if afflictions have been ordained, no matter where you hide they will seek you out. Submit therefore before the will of Allah; be grateful in well-being and endure adversity with fortitude that His light may radiate within your being."

-Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani (R.A)

Sister Jasmine, I thank the creator for this chance to exchange ideas. Its easy to say “ submit yourself to the will of Allah”. How do we do this in practice. How? How? How?

Maybe the answer lies in knowing Allah. How do we get that knowledge? What do u say?

The answer is obvious. Read the Koran with the object to learn about Allah. Once we learn about Allah that knowledge will lead to love, respect and fear. That knowledge --- the more pure it is; then our faith in Allah will insha Allah increase and then that will make us better human beings.

The key is Knowledge of Allah. Not just passive Knowledge but very active life changing knowledge.

Some readers quoted Rumi. I came across this quote. I share with you. Hope u like it.

Wealth has no permanence: it comes in the morning,
and at night it is scattered to the winds.
Physical beauty too has no importance,
for a rosy face is made pale by the scratch of a single thorn.
Noble birth also is of small account,
for many become fools of money and horses.
Many a nobleman's son has disgraced his father by his wicked deeds.
Don't court a person full of talent either,
even if he seems exquisite in that respect:
take warning from the example of Iblis.
Iblis had knowledge, but since his love was not pure,
he saw in Adam nothing but a figure of clay.

Rumi

I like this site. I like to share something. Today I was faced with a problem. The problem was solved. By Allah's Grace it was solved. And at that moment I remembered Allah.

I thanked Allah for His intervention. I thanked Allah in my heart, and I was amazed by Allah's Grace. My friends attributed it to luck. They agreed that it was quite strange and remarkable, that the problem was solved. Everytime I repeated Alhamdulillahi and said it was Allah's help, my friends smiled and said it was just good luck.

When I then prayed my prayers in the evening I must say that by Allah's Grace I had an extremely satisfying experiance of prayers. My mind wondered considerably less and my attention to the fact that I was standing in front of my Creator was intense. Alhamdulillahi.

I felt happy, light hearted and was feeling really happy. I was smiling with my parents, and more attentive to their needs. I attribute my condition to the fact I remembered my Lord, the King of Kings.

I am repeating Allah's name to myself, and I am asking Allah to please draw me near to him. I thank Allah for his Blessings on our beloved prophet, his family and his companions. Alhamdulillahi. I'm sooooooooo happy. This is what I have to share. Allah Bless you jasmine. Hope other sisters and brothers would contribute.

Peace!

Thanks for all your goodwill. Its great to read all these posts. What a wonderful experience you shared with us. Indeed this religion of Islam is based 100% on Allah. When we strive to remember Allah, then we Insha Allah see immediate benefits.

I had a friend of mine who related that once in the London underground he came across a lady who put out her hand for some money. The person was dressed well, and by all indications was just like any other person passing by. He looked at the extended hand and hurried on.

After 20 steps, he said that he remembered Allah. He turned back and went up to the lady who was begging. He said he gave her 5 pounds in answer to Allah's call on us to give charity for Allah's sake. He said that no sooner he did this, he felt fantastic. His whole day was transformed. He had the praise of Allah in his lips, and felt real happiness.

I then tried this out, myself. Yes, I started to see beggars not as some unpleasant experience but an opportunity to get close to Allah. I began to see these encounter with begars as Allah's Blessing to me; opening an opportunity to get close to Allah. My friend's experience helped me not to judge the beggars I occasionally met. Alhamdulillahi.

Yes! I now don't look at someone who extends his hand and think.............” This guy is ok he should not be asking for money, shame on him”. No I think that I'm giving for Allah's sake, I'm spending of what Allah has given me.

Glory to Allah! It gives me real happiness, and makes me to think of Allah more and indeed like your own experience my prayers too become much more satisfying and less distracted by the world around.

Thank-you Oh Allah! Please do go on sharing your experiences, with us..

Why do we need to always think of God? We have brains. Why cant we lead good lives without religion?

The majority are not muslims. Many of them lead as good a life as any Muslim.

Lets all pray that Allah Guides Anni; that he recognises the beautiful principles that's enunciated in the Koran and Hadis.

Principles such as the equality of all humans before God, The rule of Law and due process, The Principle of the inviobility of the person and home of all humans, The Guarantee of the Rights of Humans as expounded in Islamic law, irrespective of his/her CREED, RACE or COLOUR. The protection of all humans from slander and heresay. I can go on and on.

Lets pray that Anni, holds fast to the rope that Allah threw down to us humans to avoid destruction, and that he Anni our chosen leader, by Allah's Grace helps us - his Maldivian subjects to also grab tight to this saving rope from Allah. Amen!

One of the very nice blogs that I came across. Good job, keep blogging.
I too feel we are born into Islam so we tend to follow Islam. This has now became almost the same as the ancestors reason of "this is what we saw our forefathers doing". Hardly few practice the religion by knowing its importance, this maybe due to lack of awareness and the lack of religious education in the Maldivian education system. So we don't see the real values of it, we don't see it been practiced. This is one thing that has to be hanged before it gets too late.

Agreed, a kid of strange blog this. Unusual. Many of us are born Muslims, and many just slog on. However inspite of many being sort of " as our ancestors was" mentality, many are sincere.

Look at the churches - practically empty. Look at our mosques, they are certainly not empty. That sort of indicates that the ordinary masses are indeed sincere. Almost instinctively, they seem to hold on to values passed on. Since we are 100% muslims, there seems to be no direct onslaught on Islamic beliefs.

However with more of us going abroad without really examining our core Islamic teachings, the consumption mentality goes to the head of many, and they come back home, convinced that aping the Jahiliya type society in the West is the answer to all our problems.

What we need, is real good Islamic scholars, who you recognize immediately for what they are by what they are - in all aspects of their life. Piety, love for their religion and most important people you can see who really love and most important fear Allah.

That really is the acid test. Love and fear of Allah.

Brothers/ sisters in Islam. Let me share this beautiful thought of someone, that I liked very much.

In these troubled times in our country it might serve to remember this......

Do not seek sustenance from people. Allah is the real Provider. If He wills a certain person to be the means of your livelihood, do not consider that person to be in control of your destiny.

Have faith and be certain in the knowledge that your daily bread does not depend upon any mortal, but upon Allah who created all.

-Al-Hajwiri, "The Kashf al-Mahjub"

Dont you think its so beautifully put. Lets help each other to .......
Remember Allah,
Love Allah,
Get Close to Allah,
Fear Allah,
Work with all our strength for Allah.

I'm born into Islam too.

Allah does not refuse his favours to the one who speaks ill of Him. Just look around in the world at large.

Imagine, Allah's favours to the person who is overflowing with love, respect, adoration and fear for him.

... Lets keep remembering Allah. One easy way to do this is by repeating " ALLAHU" over and over again. Also keep asking Allah to please instill in our hearts love for Him.

Brothers/ sisters, try it. My whole life changed, doing this. May Allah Please Bring us close to Thee. Amen.

I share with you the way who has really worked hard to get close to Allah often speaks. When one begins to strive to know Allah, then that knowledge makes him love Allah, and so he begins to want to obey Allah. He starts with what Allah has ordered him to do, and then he wants to do more and more good deeds ( as per Koran and Hadis), until he attains perfect taqwa.

Then, people see such people spending great parts of their time rememberin Allah. The following are words reported from such a brother in Islam ....

Seek what you wish from Allah, not from men.
Be satisfied in joy; there is honor therein.
On friends and relatives be not a burden.
Rich is he who hopes from Allah, not from men.

-Al-Ghazzali, "Ihya Ulum Id-Din"
