Phenomenon Prophetic

It’s not my intention to give you a life story of the prophet - pboh. Excellent Traditional (ancient), recent and very recent works on the prophet are available, and all Maldivians aught to know it well. Suffice it to say, who amongst us haven’t felt a lump in our throats or tears pour down our cheeks at the recall of poignant incidents like the terrible children set to stone the prophet in Taif?

Below are the thoughts of just an ordinary Muslim, who tries hard to get close to Allah, loves Allah and His prophet. It’s my hope, that by my sharing my thoughts - you my readers would be moved to share your thoughts too and By Allah’s Grace, we might become better Muslims, learning and adjusting from each other’s experience. The threads of thought put together here are from collected from many Muslims who struck a chord deep within me.

Yes, in this age and time, the internet is a wonderful tool that could be harnessed for our benefit. It offers us anonymity that encourages us to exchange ideas freely, without fear of any consequences. My Blog would be Insha Allah free, uncensored, and here I encourage free exchange of ideas, without any attempt at knowing who you are, from where you are, and what you believe. In short that is a part of yourself, that’s inviolable just like your property. I believe this to be the ideal in Islam, and I strive to practice what I learn. Allah knows best!

"Prophets" have different meaning to different people in the world. From the point of view of Islam, a prophet is someone whose “ID” is progressively extinguished and reprogrammed to the dictates of the Creator. Needless to say as a consequence, his ego and superego are all re-modeled into its final mould in accordance with the Creator’s will and nothing else. Thus a prophet by Allah’s Grace attains the true potential of the human reality – the natural inborn potential of overtaking the lofty position of the angels.

This is an interesting moment. Does he cease to be a human being? NO.

I believe that in the person of "a prophet", we have a dazzling example of the demonstration of man, God and their inter-relationship. Here is a man, seemingly just another man; unremarkable even a deficient man by prevailing standards - with respect to his financial position, and social status which commands more social weight than a noble ancestry.

In society he is "a nobody" but God who created this man knows his true potential. He chooses him to be his prophet. The chosen man even tries his best to resist “being chosen”. With time his will is broken, he is overwhelmed, and is bent to the WILL OF GOD -100%. Gradually all his resistance is broken. His id, ego, superego is remodeled until he is crystallized to the purest human form until he is ready to carry the infinitely heavy burden of conveying Allah’s message to Allah’s slaves. *

What does all this mean to the man chosen as a prophet? ………

I have been repeatedly told that my posts are boringly long. I therefore end here this post. For those interested I would continue my line of thoughts below in "comments". Those who visit us, please do share with us your experiences. Also please share with us a Koranic verse that has inspired you or a prophetic Hadis that moved you. Anything that would help us come close to Allah is welcome. Those of you who criticize us; are indeed welcome to do so. We would appreciate however if they are considerate enough not to hurt anybody.

Consider the wife of Abu sufyan, Hind and her saying to Muhammad, peace be upon him, after she came to Islam; "I never wanted to see anyone on the face of the earth to be put down more than you and your family. But now, I do not see anyone on the face of the earth more honored than you and your family."

This is a clear example of the prophet's effect on people's hearts and minds through his behavior and manners.

Allah Bless His prophet.

He (Nuh) said, ‘My people, I am not in error at all but rather am a Messenger from the Lord of all the worlds, transmitting my Lord’s Message to you and giving you good counsel, and I know from Allah what you do not know.’ (7:61-62)

@ any of u pathetic folks.

“a prophet is someone whose “ID” is progressively extinguished and reprogrammed to the dictates of the Creator. Needless to say as a consequence, his ego and superego are all re-modeled into its final mould in accordance with the Creator’s will and nothing else”.

Come-on! You are SCREAMING that he is not a human being. Why do you people play with words? Is this some sort of stupid circus????? You say something and then when you think people have forgotten you imply something else.

You have the audacity to ask the question… “Does he cease to be a human being?” …….. You then have the gall to answer --- “NO”.

Why don’t you call a spade a spade? You are talking about a human being who isn’t a human being – because you go on to babble ……….

“With time his will is broken, he is overwhelmed, and is bent to the WILL OF GOD -100%.”

We are effectively dealing with a person who has no will, apparently whose will is negated and there is only Gods will a 100% – Assuming there is a God for arguments sake.

What is this? Not a God, Not a man………. Then what? A God-Man?

Bollocks! Sister you are one confused person. Suggest you do your GCE and start all over again. I bet this is not going to be posted. Why don’t you let us read the post you deleted? So much for a free blog. You are all the same

“It is the believers who are successful: those who have khushu (the khaashioon)…” [Qur’an 23:1-2]

Allah (swt) describes how those who have been given knowledge are people who have khushu.

“Certainly, when it is recited to them, those who were given knowledge fall on their faces in prostration, saying, ‘Glory be to our Lord! The promise of our Lord is truly fulfilled!’ Weeping, they fall to the ground in prostration, and it increases them in khushu.” [Qur’an 8: 107-109]

How do we go about it? Any sheiks around? maybe the adhalath ones? Can someone invite them to this blog? To make sure things said here is proper. No disrespect to blog. May Allah lead us to STRAIGHT PATH.

"Allah the Almighty has said: Whosoever shows enmity to a friend of Mine, I shall be at war with him. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have imposed upon him, and my servant continues to draw near to Me with voluntary works so that I shall love him. When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask (something) of Me, I would surely give it to him; and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant it to him." [Bukhari]

Our rasoolullahi had no pride. he was ummi and slave. When you read his words you can see how he was. We must be like our prophet of God. Lets all work to control our good pride. Think that we obey Allah swt commands, by following his messenger. We can do this. We must tell this to our close family, so they too will be humble and without pride. O Allahu, who made us and made us grow, please make it easy for us to follow your messenger as you commanded us.

I suppose The prophet is for me - the seal of prophets.

A prophet - is any prophet in general.

Muhammed - sal is the last prophet, the seal of prophets. So of the prophets of Allah he is distinctive because he is the last prophet to come. There cannot and wont be any other prophets, as revealed by Allah.

Thats my understanding. May Allah Guide us. As a brother noted lets all try to draw near and near to Allah swt.

Brothers and Sisters! Reflect on the beauty and the wisdom of this statement below. You must always be willing to cling to Allah and ensure that you are far away from the path of Iblis.

“I was riding behind the Prophet (SAW) when his mount stumbled and so I said, ‘may Shaytaan perish!’ Upon hearing this the Prophet (SAW) said, "do not say may Shaytaan perish for when you say this Shaytaan becomes exultant and grows in stature and says, ‘it was by my power that I injured him.’ But when you say, ‘with the Name of Allaah’ he becomes humiliated and grows small until he ends up the size of a fly." [Abu Daawud & Ahmad].

As already noted, I also note that , this must have been exactly how our beloved rasoolulaahi – sal, reacted in situations like this. Dear brothers and sisters we can be like this too. DON’T READ passively. Read and make the intention of putting into practice for Allah swt.

We love you all in Islam. Allah Bless

:-) I just read that post. Masha allahi! Few mts had not gone, my 14 yr daughter was going for classes after her salat. She had misplaced her maths text book, and was upset and out popped a “shit” and mumbling. I told her that by reacting thus she was boosting Iblis’ ego. I told her that she was adviced to say “in the name of Allah” by the prophet and that Iblis would be reduced the size of a fly.

The reaction was a spontaneous “ that’s cooooool” and a smile that lit up my lilltle room. Here was a girl who seemed to like the idea of reducing old Iblis to a weenie weenie fly. :-) Amazing these children are! Share what you learn with your darling children, and others.

Don’t wait. Start now! Share! Share! Share! We can do it for Allah’s sake.

She admitted that she always “cussed”, and that by Gods Grace she would remember to say “ in the name of Allah”. Alhamdulillahi. I was so happy with her reaction, and thanked Allah for giving me a good daughter.

Allah Akbar. HOW WONDERFUL IS OUR CREATOR. Allah Bless you and your family for the lovely post. Also may Allah Bless all of you who posted Ayat and Hadis. MashaAllah.

According to Islam, Allah created man for a noble purpose: to worship Him and lead a virtuous life based on His teachings and guidance. How would man know his role and the purpose of his existence unless he received clear and practical instructions of what Allah wants him to do? Here comes the need for prophethood.

The prophets were the channel of communication between Allah and mankind. It is through them that Allah, in His Infinite Mercy, provided men and women with guidance to follow the right course. For those who accept and follow that guidance, the reward in the life after death is much greater and more desirable than the fleeting pleasures of this world.

Even as We have sent a Messenger from among you who recites to you Our revelations and purifies you and teaches you the Book and the wisdom and teaches you that which you did not know. (2:151)

The prophets and messengers were very special people, but, nonetheless, they were no more than human beings. They were not sons, partners, or incarnations of Allah. The message of every prophet and messenger was one and the same: There is none worthy and deserving of worship except Allah. Even the messengers themselves have to believ in everything all the believers believ in Islam.

The Messenger believes in what has been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. Each one of them believes in God, His angels, His books, and His Messengers. They say: 'We make no distinction between one and another of His Messengers.' And they say: 'We hear, and we obey. We seek Thy forgiveness, Our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys.'(2:285)

It is evident from numerous places in the quran that the messengers themselves were only human. Not God-human, not God, not the son of God but rather a human living among the community.

Is it a wonder for mankind that We have inspired a man among them, saying: Warn mankind and bring unto those who believe the good tidings that they have a sure footing with their Lord? The disbelievers say: Lo! this is a mere wizard.(10:2)

Allah Almighty chose honorable humans to be His prophets, a choice that the disbelievers would oppose till the Day of Judgment. Every prophet was a human and was attacked by his people for being a human:

The chiefs of the disbelievers among his people said: "We see you (are) but a human like ourselves, nor do we see (that) any follow you but the meanest among us and they (too) followed you without thinking. And we do not see in you any merit above us.in fact we think ye are liars!" (11: 27)

This verse was revealed regarding the people of Noah, the first messenger sent after Adam (peace and blessings be upon both of them).

The same attitude was repeated in nation after nation. The Qur'an narrates the stories of the peoples of `Aad and Thamud and those after them. They rejected the prophets' message under the pretext that the prophets were (no more than human beings like us)

Their messengers said: "Is there a doubt about Allah, The Creator of the heavens and the earth? It is He Who invites you, in order that He may forgive you your sins and give you respite for a term appointed!" They said: "Ah! ye are no more than human, like ourselves! Ye wish to turn us away from the (gods) our fathers used to worship: then bring us some clear authority(14:10)

Similarly, the humanity of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was taken as a basis for raising doubts about his message:

Their hearts trifling; and those who are unjust counsel together in secret: He is nothing but a mortal like yourselves; what! will you then yield to enchantment while you see?(21:3)

Yes indeed they were only humans among ourself chosen to guide us through God's revelation nd set us a living example of islamic faith & manners in every day life of a normal human being in this world who strives to please God nd lead the life of a perfect muslim.

“Prostrate and draw close” Qur’an 96:19

The sajdah is one of the greatest outward manifestations in expressing our obedience as Muslims. The believer places his symbol of his being, his face, and places it in the lowest position thereby facilitating the emergence of humility, submissiveness and yearning for Allah. It is perhaps for this reason that the Muslim is rewarded with closeness to his Lord in this position. ---

as stated by the Prophet - sal “The closest a servant is to his Lord when he is prostrating.” [Muslim]

The personality of Mohammad! It is most difficult to get into the truth of it. Only a glimpse of it I can catch.

What a dramatic succession of picturesque scenes. There is Mohammad the Prophet, there is Mohammad the General; Mohammad the King; Mohammad the Warrior; Mohammad the Businessman; Mohammad the Preacher; Mohammad the Philosopher; Mohammad the Statesman; Mohammad the Orator; Mohammad the reformer; Mohammad the Refuge of orphans; Mohammad the Protector of slaves; Mohammad the Emancipator of women; Mohammad the Law-giver; Mohammad the Judge; Mohammad the Saint.

And in all these magnificent roles, in all these departments of human activities, he is like, a hero..

Prof. K. S. Ramakrishna Rao

How sad that with such an example before us, we strive and fall over each other in trying to immitate the Western norms based first and foremost on EGO and NOT ALLAH.

@ December 2, 2008 8:17 PM.

Islamic personality?

A life that reflects total submission to God. That means a life thats fully in accordance with the Koran and Hadis.

I think if Allah sent ONLY a manual of instructions from above the 7 heavens for us to follow, then we would be in real trouble - BIG TIME. We know how difficult it is to follow manuals from our use of day to day appliance manuals.

Allah Created us. He knows us. He wants to make it easy for us, Beacuse He is All merciful, so with the manual he sent down his prophet to explain things, in detail.

Now we see the beautiful logic when Allah ORDERS US to follow the prophet – sal in the Koran. Allah had made sure that His Messenger understood and lead his life COMPLETELY according to the Koran.

How amazing our Creator Allah is. How caring our Rabb is. His Book commands people to THINK, THINK, THINK and think. See how beautifully every little thing fits into place.

Amazingly then we turn to his wife………

Ayesah, may Allah be pleased with her, said that if you would like to see a living example of the Quran walking, then simply look to Muhammad, peace be upon him. His life was the best example of the noble teachings and principles set forth in the Quran.

So there it is. Islamic personality? We have it in the perfect example of Prophet Muhammad – Peace be upon him.

Indeed, all praises are due to Allah, we praise Him, seek His Aid and beg for His Forgiveness. We seek refuge in Allah from the evil in our souls and from the bad consequences of our deeds. Whomever Allah guides, no one can lead that person astray and whomever Allah leads astray no one can guide that person. I bear witness that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah Who is alone and without any partners and I bear witness that Muhammad (saws) is His slave and final Prophet and Messenger sent to mankind. And certainly the most perfect speech is the Speech of Allah and the finest guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (saws).

Umm Habeebah (radyAllahu ‘anhaa) reported that the Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam) said: “Every speech of the Son of Adam is against him not for him, except for commanding good and forbidding evil or the remembrance of Allah, may He be Exalted.”

And he ( rahimahullaah) said: “I heard Abu ‘Alee Ad-Daqaaq say: ‘Whoever remains silent concerning the truth, then he is a silent devil.’”

May Allah guide us all to the right path -Ameen-

Isn’t this what every religion’ all about?????????????????????? Wish you interviewed the Mumbai beasts. What did they believe? What about the Goaty Bin Laden – the mass murderer. More at home the infamous ex president? What did they believe, who did they follow.

I dont know who they followed. They DID NOT FOLLOW THE CORAN, THEY DID NOT FOLLOW THE PROPHET MUHAMMED.

You would like to think otherwise. BUT ITS NOT SO. Consider -- I think every religion tells one to love his neighbour. BUT ONLY ISLAM lays out the way how to do so. Whole books are written based on Koran and Hadis how to treat your neighbour. Take the example of yourself – freethinker! You readily would agree that love your neighbour IS GOOD. Maybe you would say that you DO love your neighbour.

However when I observe how you interact with your neighbour who thinks differently to you, I am shocked. Your language is inappropriate, causes distress to the other person and quite frankly demonstrative of a huge problem. I think bro “ thakuru” very diplomatically states the root problem.

Free thinker, you need to think about this long and hard. Observe your own posts, compare that to “thakuru” – his posts. Those are the solid indisputable verifiable observations. As a “THINKER”, as you like to claim for yourself, ……………… WHAT CONCLUSION CAN YOU COME TO FROM THOSE OBSERVATIONS?

If you cared to read on the subject of treating your neighbour you would have learnt that prophet had advised his followers not to use the tongue to inflict pain. You would have learnt that you are adviced to remain silent if you were contemplating saying bad things that would hurt. You would have learnt to be gentle with those around you. You would have learnt how to control pride, you would have learnt how to be considerate to your neighbor. You would have learnt how to treat your neighbour in all situations – one of concordance or opposition. If you REALLY followed the Coran and Hadis, YOU CANNOT ACT AS YOU DID. WE CANNOT. If you observe nobody has attacked you using bad tone.

Free-thinker; I am sure you too would love to treat your neighbour with love, perhaps because you are a good person at heart. We can see what your actual situation is, with your notions of “universl good’, “ speaking your mind” and “ free speech”. You are hurting your neighbour. Thinking about it you would perhaps agree, but something snaps somewhere INSIDE YOU, and you are turned into a living “monster’. JUST LIKE THE MUMBAI BEASTS AND OSAMA BIN LADEN – that you are fond of bringing up.

I think that EVIL HAS DIFFERENT MASKS. One mask is that of the Mumbai militants. Osama bin laden is another mask, and those who ill treat their neighbours wear another mask. No matter what mask you choose its ALL EVIL. You also asked I remember who do they follow. In my opinion certainly NOT THE CORAN, NOT THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD –pbuh.

We Muslim recognize that due to our “nafs” or ego, we would repeatedly make mistakes when in front of tricky choices – as you have consistently done. That is why we hold on to the lifeline that God has thrown us – The Saint Coran.

When I recited “ Lailaha illalaahu, Muhammadan rasoolulaahi”, I recognized that I on my own could not deal with choices, due to my “nafs”. I bowed down in submission to Allah. I discovered why prophet Muhammad – Pboh was considered a mercy unto mankind.

My family, friends and even teachers immediately noticed a difference in me – for the better.

This is my experience, that I share with you free-thinker.

Even the Jews and those who did not believe in his message, adopted him as the arbiter in their personal disputes by virtue of his perfect impartiality. Even those who did not believe in his message were forced to say "O Mohammad, we do not call you a liar, but we deny him who has given you a book and inspired you with a message." They thought he was one possessed. They tried violence to cure him. But the best of them saw that a new light had dawned on him and they hastened him to seek the enlightenment.

What a situation! I agree one has to assess the overall good Vs the harm. May Allah Bless you for your sound advice. I’m reluctant to read anything written against the person of the prophet, or insults of the holy Qur’an. I understand the hesitation out there.

All Muslims I’m sure would welcome honest discussion. Like brother Yusuf puts it…” Islam has the proof for everything that it teaches. Its sources are authentic and original. They are: The Saint Coran, Teachings of Muhammad -sal. This is very unique to Islam, not available in any other ancient religion”. I agree.

Unfortunately the Blog has become a farce. We cannot post freely with the present atmosphere freely. It’s sad, it’s childish. I was planning to post a new post on Friday. With the prevailing conditions I am in two minds.

In spite of everything there are hilarious moments. The talk about remote control access to human beings and about CNN and Aljazeera. Imagine Mr. Bill Gates or Mr. Gazim decides to go to work, walking. How childish it is to conclude from that – that, Mr. Bill Gates or Mr. Gassim is incapable of buying a car or buy a bus ticket to work. Allah decides how he wants to deal with his creation. For human beings in general Allah has chosen prophets to communicate his will. The prophets themselves he chooses other modes of communication. The angels still another means of communication. All the creation big or microscopic - still other modes of communication. Allah Creates and HE DECIDES all the details. HE IS ALL POWERFUL. When He Wants something, He says "BE" and IT IS.

When we cannot question what, when, why or how from Gates or Gassim, or any other person How can e ,,,,,,.......................
.................

Allah would bless all you bro/sis. I was reading a lot about Islam these past days - Quran and Hadis, posted here. Some shared their experiences; I was getting very fond of the Blog. On my day, I remembered some post or other giving me what the Quran and Hadis said. By Allah’s Grace I adjusted and prayed for the reminding person. What is this Blog but an accident? Allah’s Quran and Hadis are with us. Everything will decay and go. ALL EXCEPT HIS WAJUHFULU.

Allah Bless you all.

They ask, why not through satellite TV? why not through angels? why not through elephant? Why not through so nd so?Too many "why not"s. The list goes on nd on nd on.

So let me cut the chase nd give an answer to all this why nots.

I think the real question here is "Why human messengers? Why human? Good question. So let us think.

A messenger is assigned to convey the law of Allah and to inform people about the divine message and he would also teach people how to apply it. The law is theoretical and must be practically applied. People need to see their messenger offering prayers, performing Hajj, and applying the divine law he brought to them. Not only that. As the sister has previously mentioned. For us deen is a way of life, how we eat, drink, dress, talk, etc, etc. So these prophets become the role model human being of Islam. They teach us how to treat our neighbour through his teachings (words) nd through his deeds(practical). Like this he sets an example in evry aspect of a normal human being's life. how to treat ur wife, old peaple, young people, people with different oppinion, people with different people,etc,etc..

And now when the unbelievers argue on the Day of Judgment, "O Lord, You have burdened us beyond our power and enjoined on us what we could not do." The answer would simply be that your prophet was a human like you, yet he was able to faithfully apply the divine law without feeling burdened beyond the capacity of humans.

Thanks. I was only hoping that we would be helping each other, to work hard to come closer to Allah and His prophet. I know how often I forget things. Bro's and sis's with their posts made me think. Allah reward them. Now I think we need to stop and observe. Maybe a brother can start something like this.

May Allah Bless yoi and everyone out there.

my brothers and sisters in Islam. how can we not defend the most successful and influencial person to walk in the face of this earth.
muslims and non muslims alike has praised the quality and caracterstics of this man Mohammad (saw)
its our duty to spread the word of him even if we know one correct and authentic saying of prophet.

The beauty is the Kings, Paupers, Ladies, men, Adults and children -all have no difficulty in following him. Arabs were just groups of warring tribes. When they decided to follow the holy prophet, they changed. The change was so good and irresistabil.

Dark forces used bad language, harsh methods, death threats to silence him.

Then a small band followed him. Then the band grew. Then all of Arabia followed him - from a couple to the whole of arabia. And then the impossible happened. Those arabs overcome the super powers of that time - Romans and Persians. - Like USA n USSR today.

So this person we must defend today. We must follow him today. Good things with 'irada we can expect

It is reported by Abdullah Ibn Abbas Radhi-Allahu anhum that the Prophet Sallallahu `alayhi wasallam said, “No good deeds done on other days are superior to those done on these (first ten days of Dhu al Hijjah).” Thereupon, some companions of the Prophet Sallallahu `alayhi wasallam said, “Not even Jihad? ” He replied, “Not even Jihad, except that of a man who does it by putting himself and his property in danger (for Allah’s sake) and does not return with any of these things.” (Bukhari Volume 2, Book 15, Number 86)

Ibn `Abbaas (Radiya ‘Llahu 'anhu) commented on the verse
“…and to mention Allaah’s name [plentifully] on Known days.”(Quran 22:28) by saying: “…these known days are the ten days [of Dhul Hijjah].(Tafseer Ibn Katheer)”

"Fasting the day of ‘Arafah expiates the [minor] sins of two years:a past one and a coming one. And fasting the day of ‘Aashooraa’expiates the sins of the past year" (Sahih Muslim Book 6:Number 2602,2603,2604,2605,2606)

A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: There is no day when God sets free more servants from Hell than the Day of 'Arafa. He draws near, then praises them to the angels, saying: What do these want?(Muslim Book 7: Number 3126)

So dear brothers and sisters try to make the best out these days and all the other days in your life, you dont carry anything other than your deeds to the hereafter.

May Allah guide us all -Amin-

We are waiting yr response.

You are an Islamist claiming to be somehow better than the 5 billions out there who are not Islamists.

Nothing you write shows that you are any different to a Hindu, Buddhist a Christian, Jew or atheists. You in all likelihood, have the same weaknesses as the others and you fall into the same temptations as the others, you even lust the same as the others, and you probably do the same good as others. U lead a life that’s NOT different to any others.

Of all these religionists, on a dark night in a dark street you probably look most like a Jew with the style of your beard, and dress - except the type of cap. My apologies to any Jew out there. It’s just that these present day Islamist steals even your distinctive style of beard.

Regarding what you write, have you written anything at all that is your own? You quote this and that. Then idiots drool and swoon on that.

We wait to hear you write what sets you apart from 5 billion people out there - THE VAST MAJORITY, who are not Islamists.

Final question why is it that Islam is synonymous with terrorists?

Because jasmine did not have answers to questions she conveniently withdrew into her shadowy world. She knew that we would follow her every move. We would expose her. For this we have even started a blog to balance her type of propaganda. We assured her day and night watch on her blog.

At one time or other when somebody switches on the light, cockroaches and other vermin slink back into their dark corners. Strangely the jasmine faded, ever so fast.

Next? you --- thakuru?

@yusuf

You are a flip-flopper. The person who bit the hands that fed and sustained you. I'll wager that at the bottom would be an Islamist women who seduced you. She would not marry you until you flip - flopped. A changer that changes with every changing wind. Good for your types!

Our free thingers haunt newly created in Male, would keep a track of your posts, and high light defficient thinking and quite honestly riddicule your posts where it merits such ridicule. We expect our writings to be critisized and we assure you that we would critisize yours too. This is done solely with the intention TO EXCHANGE IDEAS AND PROMOTE FREE THINKING, and SET RIGHT WHATS OBVIOUSLY WRONG.

Finally as free thinkers we self - examine. At our last meeting we noted the use of bad language. If we we have been guilty of this, as free thinkers we express our regrets to whoever was receiving it.

@free thinkers.
Final question why is it that Islam is synonymous with terrorists?

there is a battle going on between people who wants to follow ISLAM as it was revealed to Muhammad SAW. and with pople who wants to pick and choose what they want from ISLAM.
the USA is behind this psycological war. tens of millions of dollars are flowing to non muslims and muslims alike to lead this war by the US govt. the idea is to change ISLAM.(just like they manage to change BIBLE with over 300 different versions as of today)
they fund radio stations/ tv channesl and various news papers through out the world to spread this so called MODERATE ISLAM.
(moderate accoding to USA definitions) sometimes they hand pick influential muslim pople who does not have any knowledge of islam to spread the MODERATE islam....
(caracteristic of a MODERATE muslim is 1. democracy as understood in USA. 2.follow man made law. 3.liberating women (cant wear hijab accoding to this) 4.opssosition to terrorism( a muslim who defend his land is a terrosist) like people in IRAQ and PALESTINE.

If a muslim beleave the above 4 points as understood by USA then that person is a MODERN or MODERATE muslim (or a Kuffar)

more to come......hesserli

Anonymous said...

if a burglar gets beaten when he was caught stealing..who is the terrorist according to USA..

"If not Him, ye worship nothing but names which ye have named,- ye and your forefathers,- for which Allah hath sent down no authority: the command is for none but Allah: He hath commanded that ye worship none but Him: that is the right religion, but most men understand not"(12:40)

As above verse clearly states one method of identifying false religion. That is to clear away the superficial differences in the teachings of the various claimants to the ultimate truth, and identifying the central object of worship upon which they call, directly or indirectly. False religions all have in common one basic concept with regard to God they either claim that all men are gods, or that specific men were God, or that nature is God.

Thus, it may be stated that the basic message of false religion is that God may be worshipped in the form of His creation. False religions invite man to the worship of creation by calling the creation or some aspect of it God.

Eg:1
Prophet Jesus invited his followers to worship God, but those who claim to be Jesus’ followers today call people to worship Jesus, claiming that he was God.

Eg:2
Buddha was a reformer who introduced a number of humanistic principles in the religion of India. He did not claim to be God, nor did he suggest to his followers that he be an object of worship. Yet today most Buddhists who are to be found outside of India have taken him to be God and they prostrate themselves to idols made in their perception of his likeness.

All religions teach good things, So why should it matter which one we follow?
Simple. All false religions teach the greatestest of evil, to worship the creation rather than the creator. Creation-worship is the greatest sin that man can commit because it contradicts the very purpose of his creation.

Man was created to worship God alone as Allah has explicitly stated

"I created the jinn and humankind only that they might worship Me."(51:56)

Consequently:

Allah forgiveth not that partners should be set up with Him; but He forgiveth anything else, to whom He pleaseth; to set up partners with Allah is to devise a sin Most heinous indeed.(4:48)

And regarding your second question, scroll up and read. Brother Yusuf has given good reply to that.

Maybe Brother Thakuru can give us textual proof that MURDERING INNOCENT MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN ARE FORBIDDEN IN ISLAM.

The fact is RELIGIOUS MEN - they twist and turn their religion to promote their hidden agendas. We saw that very well in Male too. Maybe the brother Thakuru can throw some light here.

TO AVOID been taken in by these PSEUDO RELIGIOUS types we must get familiar with our own religious texts which are readily available to everyone.

"TO AVOID been taken in by these PSEUDO RELIGIOUS types we must get familiar with our own religious texts which are readily available to everyone."

Exactly. So whats preventing most of us from doing so. Laziness, isit an excuse?

"The fact is RELIGIOUS MEN - they twist and turn their religion to promote their hidden agendas."

I think these are called the "EVIL MEN" or one can call them the "DEVILS" among the humans. And its not all the "RELIGIOUS MEN", its some among them.

"Every community has its share of EVIL MINDS."
Let us also not forget there is common enemy to the whole of human kind. Iblees, who 've vowed to put the humankind into error nd rid them frm God's Mercy. Know ur enemy nd his followers. Don't let them get the best of u.

"Brother Thakuru is our resident helper when it comes to verses and Hadis."
Please dont consider me a scholar in quran nd hadiths. Im not. Even when Im quoting from Quran nd Hadiths I include the references, so that the brothers nd sisters reading can verify them easily nd correct me if I'm wrong. As you said we have with us our religious texts (ie:Quran nd Hadith). Read, nd search for answer. If u dont find them ask the "Learned Men" every field has got its specialised professionals. nd most importantly verify the information u get from them. This blog has taught me a lot. We've been sharing a lot in here. May God Bless sister jasmine for making this blog nd May God bless u all who contributed. Yes, Islams got answers for all the questions. It guides us towards practical ways of achieving righteousness and eliminating evil from our individual and collective lives. Islam takes into account human nature and the complexities of human society. Islam is guidance from the Creator Himself. Therefore, Islam is also called the Deen-ul-Fitrah (the natural religion of Man).

Having the proper love for Allah's Messenger (SAAW) is a must for any Muslim who is striving to please his/her Lord and who seeks his/her Lord's Forgiveness.

Learning how to properly apply this love for the last Nabee (SAAW) is to properly implement the testimony: wa ash hadu ana
Muhammadan rusulu Allah (SAAW).

Indeed, one cannot just say he/she loves the Prophet (SAAW) while his
/her actions and 'Aqeedah are fundamentaly against what the holy prophet (SAAW) brought (i.e. the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah).

Hence, the first step in the process of developing this love is to acknowledge that the Prophet (SAAW) has a claim over the believers.

Allah has said in the Qur'an (what means): "The Prophet (SAAW) is closer to the believers than their ownselves..."
[Al-Ahzab: 6].

I feel sad. My life is better part gone. I was not thinking about religion much. Now my life is past. My daughter is young clever and to me very pretty. We say we are muslims.

I was not close to religion. It embarassed me. Islam seemed out of time, backward. These past 20 years, I occasionally prayed, fasted always. Never read anything about Islam. When somethink came on TV, I turned it off. I went to cable TV.

Now my daughter is far away. Her foundation in religion is still weaker. I feel sad. I read this blog. I am sorry for my daughter. I make her grow, to see the western culture as good and something nice, and she dresses like them, talks like them, dance like them and sing like them.

What have i done? How can I help her? How can I change me? I feel scared, and am unhappy.

Ayat of the day -
And He it is who causes the night and the day to succeed one nother, [revealing Himself in His works] unto him who has the will to take thought - that is has the will to be grateful.

{Surah Al-Furqan (The Criterion) 25: Ayah 62}

Hadis of the day -
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: When Allah decreed the Creation He pledged Himself by writing in His book which is laid down with Him: My mercy prevails over my wrath. It was related by Muslim (also by al-Bukhari, an-Nasa'i and Ibn Majah).

Reminder of the day -
Remember to give much in charity, especially to your brothers and sisters in need.... after the 5 prayers certainly. A smile is charity. Calling and Inquiring after them is charity. Giving your ear is charity.

Name of the day -
MALIK-UL-MULK... The Eternal Owner of Sovereignty. Only Allah is Sovereign, humans cannot be sovereign, therefore has no right to make and pass laws.

@ troubled mind @ all of us too.

May Allah Bless you for courage. I too am like you. I agree we have to return to our Creator. Allah tells us not to despair of Allah's forgiveness. I read it. I cannot remember exact words.

I also read somewhere a very touching hadis, where the prophet advises us not to do anything we feel reluctant to do. Most important as has been said is to be sincere to Allah. We can start by thinking about Allah and start doing our 5 prayers on time. No matter what our occupation with the bangi, let stop short everything, take our wudhoo and pray.

Repeat Allah's praises often. Ask allah to make good your prayers and to please help you to come close to Allah.

Allah asks us to tell salawat on the prophet, and we can do that. When we get close to Allah's messenger, we insha Allah will get close to Allah.

The best teacher to your dear daughter is you. When by Allah's Grace I too was shocked to see my daughters state, I asked Allah's Help and read about Islam. A really wonderful book is Maudoodi's "towards understanding islam" and another brilliant book is Hameedulallhi's " Innitiation to islam".

As suggested get good advice from your scholars, and as has been suggested in these posts, make sure you verify what they say. We are all like you. We have neglected our duty to Allah. I have this feeling we Maldivians are in for a very rude time. Lets pray for each other, and help each other. The first step is Allah, the second step is Allah and the last step is also Allah.

May Allah help you and us. May Allah Bless you and us. Allah is our hope. Allah is our Strength. So pls smile and lets work together.

Did Muhammad, peace be upon him, do any miracles? Was he indeed a prophet of Allah, as he and his companions claimed?

1,500,000+ believers of Islam believe there were many miracles associated with the coming of Muhammad, peace be upon him, and his prophethood.

And what GOOD NEWS HE BROUGHT US! Here is the PROOF some clammour for.

The point is, Allah and not Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the One doing the miracles to give proof in fact, Muhammad, peace be upon him, is the Messenger of Allah.

Sahih Bukhari Volume 8, Book 76, Number 482:

Narrated Abu Huraira: the Prophet said,

whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day, should entertain his guest generously."

He Who created Death and Life, that He may test which of you is best in deed: and He is the Exalted in Might, Oft-Forgiving(67:2)

So Allah created us to test who is best in our deeds. So the life here is only a test.

If it had been thy Lord's will, they would all have believed,- all who are on earth! wilt thou then compel mankind, against their will, to believe!(10: 99)

Yes!Indeed if Allah wanted, he can prevent all the evils and can make all the men believers but that will mean taking away peoples free will, So then where is the test. Without the free will a test is useless. As you mentioned Allah is all powerful and All good nd if He had desired he can take away Tsunamis, Cyclones etc.etc and make all times good times for people. But then again where is the test, a test is how well man obeys Allah in good times and bad times. That is how we are tested in this world.

Thus Allah says and we obey:

Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things(2:256)

Yes, there should be no compulsion. You have to obey with your own will, you have to choose between right and bad, you are a free man and free thinker. Truth is indeed very clear, you just have to see it and grasp it. Allah heareth and knoweth all. He is witness to the signs he've shown you, witness to your thoughts and knoweth everything. You wont get a chance to say you didnt get the message. He knows everything.

This life is only a test.

May Allah guide us all-Amin-

You accuse people to be bankrupt of ideas not realizing your own situation. Incidently Allah does not gain a bit if the whole world were muslims. He does not loose anything if not a person is muslim.

This country had the unique distinction that it was 100% muslims. Thats rare. Faith they say is a little sappling, if you take care, then it shoots, it grows and flower and fruit. If you neglect it then it shrivels and dies.

Maldives has been rarely blessed too. In spite of limited resources, in spite of mediocre Governance, this country has stands out in the region, against all odds.

If what you say is true, I predict that we are in for a very big surprise -soon.

I believe this century will be remembered as the one in which Islam began its long march to extinction. It will be defeated in its terror war and it will be defeated because many will abandon a "religion" that is repelled by modernity, denies human rights, and revels in the blood of its victims, calling their killers martyrs.

“Indeed Allah is All-Powerful (Al-`Aziz) and He is able to do all things (`ala kull sha’in qadir). The Qur’an has mentioned this hundreds of times. It is also mentioned in the Qur’an that Allah is the Creator.

But then the question comes why do evil exist in the world. We find sickness, old age and death. We see things that are ugly, people who are insane and foolish. There are storms, earthquakes, floods, draughts. We also see people commit sins, show disloyalty, unfaithfulness, greed and insincerity. We see people commit rapes, murders; they fight and make wars. We know all these and many more problems. There are evils caused by human beings and there are natural disasters. There are suffering for individuals and there are those that involve a large number of people.

But we also know that this is not the whole story. Besides all these negative things, we also see beauty, health, prosperity, life, birth, wisdom, intelligence, growth and progress. We also see goodness among people, faith, sincerity, charity, love and the spirit of sacrifice. We also see a lot of virtue and piety. It is wrong to see one side of the coin and not to see the other side. Any "free thinker" that concentrates on one aspect of the creation and denies or ignores the other side is partially true and partial truths are no truth at all.

It is also the fact that the element of good is more in the creation than the element of evil. We all see that there are more people who are healthy than those who are sick. There are more that eat well than those who starve.

There are more that lead decent life than those who commit crimes. Goodness is the rule and evil is the exception. Virtue is the norm and sin is the aberration. Generally trees bear fruits, the flowers bloom, the winds move smoothly.

Now the question comes since nothing happens against Gods will, it is he who creates heaven and earth and everything inbetween. So it is God who created evil. Doesnt that make God Evil(Black is white)?
The answer to this is very simple as well. We are talking about Gods creations and God is the Creator. As such evil becomes part of his creation. God can never be equated to his creation or an attribute of his creation.

Eg:God created us humans, we get tired feel fatigued, feel hunger, get old, and evetually die.

Now we know that God is not human, doesn't get tired or feel fatigued and is everlasting. God and his creation (huma) or an attribute his creation(tiring, hunger, etc etc) cannot be equated to God.

Same way when evil become part of his creation the creator cannot be equated to it.

006.101
YUSUFALI: To Him is due the primal origin of the heavens and the earth: How can He have a son when He hath no consort? He created all things, and He hath full knowledge of all things.

006.102
YUSUFALI: That is Allah, your Lord! there is no god but He, the Creator of all things: then worship ye Him: and He hath power to dispose of all affairs.

006.103
YUSUFALI: No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision: He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things.

006.104
YUSUFALI: "Now have come to you, from your Lord, proofs (to open your eyes): if any will see, it will be for (the good of) his own soul; if any will be blind, it will be to his own (harm): I am not (here) to watch over your doings."

006.105
PICKTHAL: Thus do We display Our revelations that they may say (unto thee, Muhammad): "Thou hast studied," and that We may make (it) clear for people who have knowledge.

006.106
YUSUFALI: Follow what thou art taught by inspiration from thy Lord: there is no god but He: and turn aside from those who join gods with Allah.

006.107
YUSUFALI: If it had been Allah's plan, they would not have taken false gods: but We made thee not one to watch over their doings, nor art thou set over them to dispose of their affairs.

006.108
YUSUFALI: Revile not ye those whom they call upon besides Allah, lest they out of spite revile Allah in their ignorance. Thus have We made alluring to each people its own doings. In the end will they return to their Lord, and We shall then tell them the truth of all that they did.

006.109
YUSUFALI: They swear their strongest oaths by Allah, that if a (special) sign came to them, by it they would believe. Say: "Certainly (all) signs are in the power of Allah: but what will make you (Muslims) realise that (even) if (special) signs came, they will not believe."?

006.110
PICKTHAL: We confound their hearts and their eyes. As they believed not therein at the first, We let them wander blindly on in their contumacy.

006.111
YUSUFALI: Even if We did send unto them angels, and the dead did speak unto them, and We gathered together all things before their very eyes, they are not the ones to believe, unless it is in Allah's plan. But most of them ignore (the truth).

006.112
YUSUFALI: Likewise did We make for every Messenger an enemy,- evil ones among men and jinns, inspiring each other with flowery discourses by way of deception. If thy Lord had so planned, they would not have done it: so leave them and their inventions alone.

006.113
PICKTHAL: That the hearts of those who believe not in the Hereafter may incline thereto, and that they may take pleasure therein, and that they may earn what they are earning.

006.114
PICKTHAL: Shall I seek other than Allah for judge, when He it is Who hath revealed unto you (this) Scripture, fully explained? Those unto whom We gave the Scripture (aforetime) know that it is revealed from thy Lord in truth. So be not thou (O Muhammad) of the waverers.

006.115
YUSUFALI: The word of thy Lord doth find its fulfilment in truth and in justice: None can change His words: for He is the one who heareth and knoweth all.

006.116
PICKTHAL: If thou obeyedst most of those on earth they would mislead thee far from Allah's way. They follow naught but an opinion, and they do but guess.

006.117
PICKTHAL: Lo! thy Lord, He knoweth best who erreth from His way; and He knoweth best (who are) the rightly guided.

So my brothers in Islam in Maldives, do not let your little numbers over there make your heart heavy. Even if you were few, YOU ARE IN ALLAH'S PATH. YOU HAVE ALLAH's GUIDANCE. AND ALLAH is enough for the believers.

On the day of Badr, they were few! JUST 313. But they had ALLAH's HELP. They were indeed happy, even though they were in the minority. :-) La illaha illallahu Muhammadan rasoolullahi. Allah Grant us Peace! Love! and Hope!

@ Jasmine you said ….

“ In society he is "a nobody" but God who created this man knows his true potential. He chooses him to be his prophet. The chosen man even tries his best to resist “being chosen”. With time his will is broken, he is overwhelmed, and is bent to the WILL OF GOD -100%. Gradually all his resistance is broken. His id, ego, superego is remodelled until he is crystallized to the purest human form until he is ready to carry the infinitely heavy burden of conveying Allah’s message to Allah’s slaves. * What does all this mean to the man chosen as a prophet? ………”

That’s the type of fare pedalled by all religionists and neo religionist.

Jasmine I'm sorry but I see this as a very poor attempt to use Freudian terminology to give credibility to your musings – by association.

Your suggestions here basically are
1. A man is chosen
2. He resists being chosen
3. Then his will is broken.
4. His personality is completely changed to Gods dictates.
5. Later you say he remains a man.

On what do you base these suggestions?

You give no indications at all – NOT ONE. All religious apologists have this in common, they make catchy unsubstantiated statements designed to catch the eye and really mislead people who are gullible.

If you observe this blog there are over 100 posts. Not one person questions Jasmine. They either swallow whats said without thinking or just pretend that there is nothing wrong in what she says.

In actual effect, lets face it the choices open for a persons' life is very simple..........Either

1. To lead his/her life as he/she thinks is best. Here a person could leads his life on the principle of not doing harm to anyone, on the basis of mutual respect, mutual love and mutual fair-play.

In this he/she can be guided by universal values of good and bad. The limiting factor is the law of the land based on the standards of an average adult free thinking sane human being. OR..

2. To lead a person’s life according to some hocus-pocus concocted by religionists – seen down the ages as an elite clergy class with supposedly unique connections to the supernatural.

This elite clergy can take the mask of Buddhist monks, Hindoo sadhu’s or some Rishi, Taoist monks, Incas monks, Christian church, Jewish Sanhedrin, Islamic Mullah's.

That’s really choosing between orange juice and fanta.

You go out of your way with guys like yusuf, thakuru, Daria and a host of others to put on "blinders"
on free thinking people so that they think that they have something special going.

In fact your thoughts are just that - thoughts ..... Like one of 2 choices put up above. orange juice or fanta.

Try convincing a guy who likes orange juice to switch to fanta! ha! ha! ha! heee heee heee I hope you can appreciate how funny you sound - all of you.

Hey! if you like to read more, please visit my blog, and leave your comments. Since Jasmine has decided she wont post, I invite you to an alternative post......

It is clear, very clear that this is a great problem of education. Some people live their life according to what suits their ego or nafs. They imagine its their right to speak their mind. They are proud of this, and even repeat it a hundred times " hey I speak what I think" or "you get what you see". In doing this they dont care what they say, how they say and if they hurt someone. They imagine they are cooool, they are modern.

Others with a Muslim education discover that their tongues can cause great hurt and harm and that they are answerable to Allah on how they use their tongue.

They also know that the best Muslim is the one who is best to his brother /sister. So he tries to moderate his language in a manner not to hurt others.

Also a Muslim knows that his faith would not be complete until he/she wants for his bro/sis what he wants for himself. So again he thinks twice before acting as an animal does - on impulse.

We who have Western education, know that Christ said "love your neighbour" and thats an ideal. However how this is done has not come down to us. We imagine speaking our mind is indeed the way of loving our neighbour. Then when we discover the Coranic teachings and the prophetic traditions on how to love one's neighbour, we are thunderstruck.

We see the beauty and the completeness and the perfectness of this way of life that is Islam. We fall in love with this beautiful jewel that is islam and say " Oh My Lord! we Hear and We obey" - as dear brother Thakuru points out.

How can one not see the difference between the diamond and the piece of glass? The only was is NOT TO OBSERVE THE DIAMOND, OR THE GLASS AND COMPARING THE TWO. Anyone who takes the time to examine would see the brilliance, lustre and the purity of the diamond. May Allah open our hearts and eyes.

So I do feel sorry for those people who are still at the stage of feeding and listening only to their nafs. May Allah Guide them to Islam. Insha Allah they would learn good manners and humility.

May Allah Guide us to Him. may Allah do our 5 prayers with diligence and May Allah make us repeat his beautiful names and so make us remember Him, and make our love for Allah and his messenger grow and grow.

Allah Bless you. Please forgive me if I oversteped the clear guidance, and please show me my mistakes.

May Allah reward you.

Amin!

a beautiful post has appeared in Muizzu's blog. I post for those who are pressed for time and cant go there. It is a good site. enjoy! Allah Bless all of us....

A Wish, a Plea and a Warning...
May I take this opportunity to wish all the Maldivians a happy and blessed Eid-ul-Adha.
May Allah almighty give us all the ability to get the best out of this great opportunity to reflect on how we have been performing as Muslims and embark upon a resolution to become better Muslims. Amen!
I believe it is worthwhile to highlight at this moment that the importance of Eid in Islam seems to be fading away from our society at an alarming rate. This comes as no surprise since the importance of the five daily prayers, fasting, Hajj, reciting and learning from the Holy Quran, respecting and obeying the parents, observing good manners, to name a few, definitely have been disappearing from the society, specially from the youth, at a distinctively fast rate.

The reasons behind this are many, and I have tried to highlight upon them in numerous articles in the past (such as: http://www.muizzu.com/2008/08/status-of-maldivian-youth-when-will-we.html) (and will address it more in-depthly in the future insha Allah).

Let us take this oppportunity of Eid to sincerely question ourselves - each and everyone of us. Let us test ourselves on the question as to how much importance do we give to Islam in our daily lives? How much importance do I give to perform the five daily prayers and the rest (mentioned above)? What do I do to live as a good Muslim?

And let me remind myself and everyone of us that it is never too late to make amends to our shortcommings. It is never too late to take that little, yet important step, in the direction of making ourselves a little bit better in terms of being a good Muslim, a real Muslim.

And unless we start doing that, unless we start to change from within ourselves by ourselves, we are not going to see the nation change for the better...!

Once again, happy Eid-ul-Adha!

Maldivians have been blessed with many things. We have our religion. Look at the way we are. Scattered in hundreds of islands and each island with just a few hundreds at the most.

This has been a fantastic situation. Each island has its hierarchy. The set-up is ideal for propagating knowledge as a cottage industry. This is why that most Maldivians until about 30 years ago had a relatively good knowledge of their religion, and gave first priority to religion.

An average Maldivian would burp loud and clear after his meals. At the same time he would wish Allah’s blessing when he sneezes. Or say with “Gods will” for some future event. In today’s context a Maldivian will hold in, his biological emissions and completely forget God. This is believed to be good manners and progress.

How did this change come about? I say that this has happened because we have uprooted the traditional family, neighbour and island structure. We have uprooted the traditional socio-economical framework and its place we have nothing in place.

We are fast approaching the state when all our traditional Islamic values are being replaced by un-Islamic values. Once most had Allah and his prophet as their first priority. Now I doubt it.

THERE LIES THE PROBLEM.

Food For Thought
Be yourself beautiful, and you will find the world full of beauty.

Whoever follows patience, success will follow him.

Stinginess has nothing to do with how much money you have. Neither does generosity. It’s about how much heart you've got.

Your own soul is nourished when you are kind; it is destroyed when you are cruel.

If you mean that RIP stands for REQUIRED IN PLENTY - I agree.

so let me put the following extracted from a Hadis....

"Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad* is the Messenger of Allah, and to perform the prayer, give zakat, fast in Ramadan, and perform the pilgrimage to the House if you can find a way."

Sometimes we get so used to things we forget the essentials. This is my case. In this case it is wonderful if somebody reminds us however basic things are.

Next I'll post insha Allah what faith ( Iman ) is....

DODO's said...

friends, this is extracted from the same hadis as above.

On being asked what Iman is the prophet pboh said....

"It is to believe in Allah, His angels, His inspired Books, His messengers, the Last Day, and in destiny, its good and evil."

Reading these two answers of the prophet - pboh I am always struck how precise, how simple and accessible Islam is. Oh! Allah I thank you for Guiding me to Islam. Please Bless the Prophet pbuh, for passing your message to us.

Brothers, sisters please pray that I have Allah's Guidance always.

Amin

@ dodo

Ta your reminders. I agree with you. May Allah Bless you. Let me share a hadis that shows us what the personality of the prophet was.

@ free thinker please note what islam is. Do some reserch and find out the heart warming inter action between the prophet and his ill tempered Jewish neighbour.

Muslim relates in his Sahih that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said,

"By Him in whose hand is my soul, none of you shall enter paradise until you believe, and none of you shall believe until you love one another . . . ." (Sahih Muslim, 1.74: hadith 54).

May Allah Bless us.

Abu Dawud relates in his Sunan that ‘Ammar ibn Yasir heard the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) say, "Truly, a man leaves, and none of his prayer has been recorded for him except a tenth of it, a ninth of it, eighth of it, seventh of it, sixth of it, fifth of it, fourth of it, third of it, a half of it" (Sunan Abi Dawud, 1.211: hadith 796)—meaning that none of a person’s prayer counts for him except that in which he is present in his heart with Allah.

Allah Most High swt says:

"He who is hostile to a friend of Mine I declare war against. My slave approaches Me with nothing more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him, and

If he asks me, I will surely give to him, and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him"

Some lovely posts I read, and I'm moved to respond.

"Whomever is not merciful to people, Allah will show no mercy" (Sahih Muslim)

"Mercy is not taken out of anyone except the damned" (al-Jami‘ al-sahih)

OMG! Come! Lets heed the Messenger of Allah. Lets practice love and mercy to all around us. Constantly let us laern to be loving and merciful to our relations, friends
, Aquaintainces, and all human beings. Because thats what Allah has ordered us, through his messenger.

We have learnt that to bring about change, we must first change ourselves. Lets start changing ourselves.

1. Lets start looking at life through the glasses of Thawheed. Just as we see the world in the tint of the glasses we use, Lets start looking at the world through the tint of Thawheed.

So lets start doing everything as Allah would want us to do. Big or small. Lets learn to take stock of our lives at each Namadhz. Lets take 3 mts to contemplate, what we have done, for Allah's sake, because of what Allah has asked us to do.

If we can count in our hearts only 1 action, then lets pray to Allah begging Him to draw you close to him, and ask Allah to help you remember Allah and obey his commands.

Then again take stock after the next prayer. Insha Allah your count will increase. Brothers/ Sisters try repeating to yourself Ya Allah! Ya Allah. Whilst you wait for the bus, whilst you wait for the underground, instead of letting your eyes and mind roll, try this out. Subhanallahi!! you will see a difference.

Thats the 1st step... Allah the second step is.....Allah the third step is ..... Allah. Yes! dear bro/sis, Allah is EVERYTHING.

Then, in your neighbour, in the stranger next to you, in your parents and family close to you, you will Insha Allah see Allah's creature, Allah's Slave, just like you.

Insha Allah within you will swell a massive wall of mercy and good will. Your face would light up with compassion for Allah's slaves and creatures. Human beings, even animals and plants.

Insha Allah change YOU WILL. The whole universe will see that change in yourself. That change that has come about is through answering the call of your Creator to worship ONLY HIM. Remembering, Longing to please the Almighty, In obeying his express commands, and in what you do solely to please Allah, That! is worshiping.

Live, to answer the call of the Muezzin. Even if you dont hear him, at the appointed time, stop everything. EVERYTHING. Move aside, take your ablution, and pray your prayers.

You will say its difficult! NO ITS NOT DIFFICULT. TRY IT OUT FOR YOUSELF JUST ONCE AND SEE HOW EASY IT IS. DISCOVER HOW INCREDIBLY COOL IT IS.

If our brothers and sisters can do it in London, Paris! Lyon! Insha Allah we can do it anywhere!. The first time people will stare at you. Even mock you. Remember there should not be an element of "show off". It should be ONLY for Allah. Discover the hidden treasures of Allah's MERCY.

Remember by doing this, out there they maybe a Muslim who observes you. There maybe a Muslim who takes heart, and gets reminded himself of his duty to Allah.

Believe me, when you answer the prayers at the appointed time, STOPPING whatever you are doing, you are joining Millions of brothers answering the same call.

Insha Allah the step you so take towards Allah would result Insha Allah; Allah Blessing you. You will Insha Allah feel it. You would feel light, happy and your whole self would be condusive to express the mercy you feel swelling in your heart. With wonder you will see yourself enacting what the messenger of Allah asked you to do in the above 2 Hadis.

This is NOT SOME THEORY. WORK IT OUT NOW FOR YOURSELF. YOU CAN. START NOW, TO MAKE ALLAH COME 1ST. IN YOUR LIFE. NOT AFTER THIS OR THAT. BUT BEFORE EVERYTHING!!!!!!!

Do it. Please report back here what you feel and see. Allah's Blessing to all you dearest sisters and dearest Brothers in Islam.

Khudafis.

What you write is NOT EASY. With flowery language you make it sound its easy, but its going to be difficult - IMPOSSIBLE. I dont know if you practice what you preach. It sounds impractical in today world, in today life. It obvious to me you FIRST have to be practical. I have NOT SEEN one person you describe. I think you are doing some harm by talking of impossible. People who read this will laugh at you and conclude you are talking nonsense.

Do not forget the prophet(Allah bless him and give him peace) . look at this hadis ...

Bukhari relates in his Sahih that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said, "None of you believes until I am more beloved to him than his father, his son, and all people"

Allah swt says in Surat al-Baqara of the Qur'an,

"And fulfill My covenant: I will fulfill your covenant—And fear Me alone" (Qur'an 2:40),

"None despairs of Allah’s mercy except the people who disbelieve" (Qur'an 12:87),

@ Imran or is it Thakuru in another name tee hee heeee
You said …
“OMG! Come! Lets heed the Messenger of Allah. Lets practice love and mercy to all around us. Constantly let us learn to be loving and merciful to our relations, friends
, Acquaintances, and all human beings. Because that’s what Allah has ordered us, through his messenger.”

Have you stopped to think that Billions of non-Muslims are striving day and night to practice “love and mercy” to all around us. This is what the Christian does. This is what the Hindoo does. This is what Buddhist does; this is what all free thinkers do. You don’t have to follow Islam to DO THAT. Before Islam people did it. After Islam people do it. And even in the future people would continue to do it. This based on UNIVERSAL GOOD. All peoples everywhere had some who practised “universal good”. INCLUDED ATHISTS.

As a matter of fact many of them who are not Muslims extend this to animals as well. Take the average Muslim adult in Maldives. Look at his/her attitude to animals. Most are indifferent and some are downright CRUEL. This is after 800 years of Islam. One would have thought that is enough time to change something in the psyche of a people. I have personally witnessed Maldivians kick and throw poor cats. Then take the attitude of the Maldivian child to animals. Compare that to an European child.

The Maldivian child is really cruel. Throwing stones or kicking or scared out of his wits. The European child exhibits loving tender care, and the love in his eyes is remarkable. The European child without his Islamic background is seen to be so much in touch with nature and showing more love and mercy towards animals than the person with Islamic education.

So what can one infer?

You are calling to people to be ZOMBIES, apparently to be good to humans and animals. I ask you WHAT FOR? Being Zombies for 800 years haven’t got us ANYWHERE. Isn’t it time to change track?

The GOOD NEWS is that without TURNING INTO ZOMBIES YOU CAN LOVE AND HAVE MERCY FOR HUMAN BEINGS, ANIMALS and ha! Ha! Haaaaaaaa Gini’s too.

Take a look at yourself, Thakuru, Yusuf, jasmine, dodo’s and all these people who are posting this and that. YOU GET THE DISTINCT FEELING THAT WE ARE DEALING WITH NUTS AND BOLTS IN THE FORM OF A ZOMBIE ROBOT.

Pathetic!

A famous hadith says that:
`A woman was punished and thrown into Hell-fire on account of her cat. She kept it tied up till it died of hunger: she neither gave it something to eat nor drink, nor let it go so that it could eat things on earth' (Bukhari, Muslim.)

The Prophet also said:
'Forgiveness was granted to a prostitute! She came upon a dog at the mouth of a well, which was panting and was about to die of thirst. She took off her leather sock, tied it with her headscarf and drew some water from the well for the dog. It was for this act of kindness that she was forgiven her sins.' When asked, 'Are we rewarded even for good we do to animals?' he replied, 'Reward is given for good done to any living creature.'(Bukhari, Muslim.)

Contrary to what the Maldivian do( or the Americans), Islam clearly states not to harm the animals. Now regarding why to follow Islam since all religions teaches us to do good, i think I've responded to it previously.

You said its difficult / impossible. I put to you.. Have you tried at all that you say its difficult/ impossible? If the answer is NO; is it reasonable for you to say it’s impossible.

You also said…

I think you are bit too hasty. Before even trying you pass judgement. In today’s world CANT ONE THINK? That’s all that’s been asked. TO THINK OF ALLAH who created us.

Or are you referring to praying on time? This too is not difficult. Have you tried? If you try you would find that on the first day it’s inconvenient. However if you remember to try and think of Allah along the day, then even this inconvenience would become less and less from day to day. It’s NOT difficult.

When you start you would be faced with choices. The first time you choose prayers to some other activity, then the next time it becomes a bit easier. Very soon Insha Allah you would see that Prayers give you a great boost. Imagine, you are closest to Allah when you are in sajda, and this is so full of potential.

As for if I practice or not, I wont dwell on that. Suffice it to say that I can say that it’s not impossible.

Yes! I know many who have practised this. Many! and they are very happy and extraordinary people. May Allah Guide us.

AS WAS POINTED OUT EARLIER IN THIS BLOG BY SOMEBODY....

ISLAM IS NOT WHAT MUSLIMS DO.

ISLAM IS WHAT MUSLIMS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO.

Many people havein in their hearts enemity to Islam, refuse to see that. So they judge Islam by Muslims who are not following Islam to the letter.

If you want to be judge, then learn about Islam and the Koran and the Prophetic Hadis and see how well Muslims practice their religion.

Thakuru, Maasha Allah has provided us with the prophetic hadis regarding animals. Allahu Please reward him. This is clear. So ALL MUSLIMS are duty bound to follow these instructions. Allah has ordered us to follow the prophet.

A free thinker who is supposed to think surely can see this difference? Is it that we are dealing with a claimant to be a thinker, who is unable or unwilling to think?

Let me REPEAT this once more....

ISLAM IS NOT WHAT MUSLIMS DO.

ISLAM IS WHAT MUSLIMS ARE SUPPOSED TO DO.

YUSUFALI: There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.

learnt from Wikipedia....

Montgomery Watt - a historian reports that prophet Muhammad's (sal) kindness to animals was extraordinary in the society he lived. Watt relates an incident where....

Prophet Muhammed (sal) put watchers or guards to make sure that a bitch with her newborn puppies was not disturbed by his army traveling to Mecca in the year 630.

Taken from - Watt, Muhammad: Prophet and Statesman, Oxford University Press, 1961

Picture this scene above. One is stoped short in wonder! A whole army is detoured due to a dog and his puppies. Is it any wonder that this great man - sal often went hungry, because he fed those of his companions -sal who were in need.

Honestly, how can one avoid being touched by the conduct of our beloved prophet -pbuh. Is it any wonder that this man -pbuh was a mercy unto mankind.

May Allah Bless our prophet.

1). To love and Worship ONLY the Creator of all things.
2). To do Good for the sake of GOD and
3). To Avoid Bad for the sake of GOD. :-):-) Soooooo Simple!!!!! No majic !!!:-) NO!!, No Hanky Panky!!!!!!!:-) NO!!, No mysteries - :-) YES!!!, A CHILD UNDERSTANDS!!!!!!!:-):-)

Forgive me the longness. Please pray for me and my family. May Allah Bless you my brothers/sisters in Islam

How can u justify a universal good and bad" without a universal lawgiver (God). If a law exists a lawgiver exists, if the law is universal then the lawgiver should be universal. Otherwise the law becomes relative, relative to a community or relative to an individual. We say God is one, he is the creator and the lord of evry single creation. Thus the Law of Allah is universal to all his creations. It is he who defines good and bad, and it his lordship over the entire creations which makes this good and bad a universal one.

May Allah guide us all -Amin-

@ convert.

very touching. Moved me to tears when I read about the verse testifying that prophet -pboh delivered his message. I was reminded the last pilgrimage of the prophet -pboh. There in his sermon he asked.... Have I delivered the message entrusted to me? And over 100,000 companions in one voice, sobs racking their whole body replied. Yes! O my God! YES, you have indeed delivered Allah's message.

Yes! what a scene! Brothers lets all together small and big, rich and poor, learn that message and in our hearts cry out....... Yes! Oh Allah the prophet delivered his message. WE HEAR!!!!! WE OBEY!!!!!!! Subhanallahi!!!! Alhamdulillahi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Allah Akbar!!!!!!

@ thakuru

My little contribution. Pls read and act according what you read. Not passive reading, but read to change yourself to PLEASE ALLAH swt.

Only the knowledgeable of His slaves fear Allah. (35:28).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Anyone who seeks sacred knowledge to vie with scholars, argue with fools, or win people's hearts he will go to hell."

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "If someone says to his brother, you are an unbeliever, one of them deserves the name."

Bro/sis, May Allah Bless you and increase your Iman.

I've been trying to remember the hadis and ayat I read here. Noted average abot 10 hadis and some ayats. So I am noting in my notebook. Often I'm remembering them. Alhamdulillahi, I also stop and adjust. I thank Allah and i feel happy. Are there anybody who has felt like this. I also have started reading. Every day 15 minutes. I have seen following, and I also like to share with yourself. May Allah Bles you my dear bro/sis. Islam is one big family. Thank Allahu.

The Prophet - blessings be his, said:

1) "The Muslim is the brother of the muslim. He does not oppress him, hang back from coming to his aid, or belittle him. It is sufficiently wicked for someone to demean his fellow muslim."

2) "By Allah, he does not believe. By Allah, he does not believe, By Allah he does not believe." Someone asked, "Who, O Messenger of Allah?" He said, " He whose neighbor is not safe from his evil conduct."

3) Someone said, "O Messenger of Allah, so and so spends her nights praying and her days fasting, but there is something in her tongue that maliciously injures her neighbors." He replied, "There is no good in her, she will go to hell."

4) "When I was taken up in the Ascent (Mi'raj), I passed by people with fingernails of copper who were raking their faces and chests with themm. I asked, "Who are they, Gabriel?' and he said, 'They are those who slandered others, ate people's flesh, and attacked their reputations."

Please O Allahu, Guide us to you.
